Songwriting has always been my passion...I've always loved how a song can help you escape, tell a story, remind you of another time and place...a song can be a little magical time machine.  I've been writing since I was 14 years old, and got my first major publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Canada when I was 24 years old.  That deal helped me secure my first record contract, which lead to my debut release "Jim Witter" on FRE Records, and five top ten singles on country radio in Canada.  That record also earned me two Juno nominations, a SOCAN songwriting award, and two CCMA awards as well.   A few years later I was signed to CURB Records in Nashville which lead to four more top ten hits in Canada.  I also had my songs recorded by other artists including Adam Gregory, and Steve Wariner who put our song "Turn In The Road" onto his "The Hits Collection:Steve Wariner" in 2003.  While touring the past 15 years with my 70's nostalgia based show "The Piano Men", I continued to write, but it's only been in the last few years where I've really gotten back to my first real love of songwriting and recording.  I love collaborating with other writers and artists in creating memorable melodies and compelling lyrics...because it really is "all about the song....".
